Full Job Description

DHL, an award-winning, leading supply chain business is seeking an IT Product Manager. This role involves managing the activities required to maintain, develop and deliver the software products controlled within the IT department. A key part of the role is to engage in business initiatives (internal) and projects (external) to clarify IT requirements and produce the appropriate IT Solution design along with the ongoing responsibility to ensure the correct implementation of the complete solution. IT is the nerve system of Supply Chain - we connect different parts of our organisation with each other and to customers, translating business needs into solutions across the globe. Our IT professionals play a vital role as strategic partners, capable of enacting value-adding change through standardisation, differentiation and innovation. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for functional product roadmaps of multiple key software products in conjunction with Suppliers and Product Experts.
  • Ownership of specified IT products and responsibility to ensure successful implementation to meet business requirements.
  • Supplier and vendor management of multiple software suppliers
  • Support business development activity for new opportunities, new accounts and renewals.
  • Detailed project planning to meet the needs of internal and external projects.
  • Produce detailed solution design following hand-over of high-level design requirement from the Define team / business.
  • Accountable for all aspects of an application lifecycle including analysis, specification, testing, implementation, documentation, training and handover to support.
  • Provide input into the teams responsible for the management of applications, application environments, releases, faults, problems and application change/configuration.
  • Engagement with stakeholders both internal and external in the delivery of IS Solutions.
  • Delivery of solutions, accountable for the identification at a detailed level the required application configuration set-up, development and data load requirements to support business requirements. This will include the detailed analysis of any required costings to achieve the overall aim.
  • Production, review and authorisation of specifications and contribute to the planning of any associated software development.
  • Planning, design and execution of user acceptance tests and responsible for the training of IT resource and business trainers.
  • Planning and management of software releases along with any corresponding application environment impacts, in conjunction with the Environment & Release Managers.
  • WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
  • Proven experience in managing technical IT Product portfolios in a large complex organisation.
  • Supplier management experience including commercial awareness around costings and software changes.
  • Stakeholder management and able to manage conflicting stakeholder expectations.
  • Knowledge of product governance and support, with awareness of levels governance of systems including maintaining documentation regarding the product portfolio.
  • Experience of Data protection and data security regarding IT products.
  • Experience of working in logistics or supply chain industry is desirable.
  • Project Management experience would also be useful in this role.
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate
