Full Job Description
Join us as a Product Design Lead
In this key role, you’ll create an environment for great business and customer outcomes as you establish and champion product design excellence across our bank
We’ll need you to drive our service design agenda of best practices, standards and processes across digital product design to increase efficiency and business and customer value
This is an opportunity to make an impact through your work as you pioneer new research techniques and products that meet the needs of both our business and customers
This role is to cover maternity leave until 31st December 2025
What you’ll do
As a Product Design Lead, you’ll coordinate across multiple federated Human-Centred Design (HCD) teams, run communities of practice to drive design specialisms, establish standards and processes to increase quality and make sure that human-centred thinking is applied across our customer journeys and experiences.
Working with our proposition, technology and operations teams, you’ll make sure that product design is part of the design-making process to lead to better business and customer outcomes. You’ll also own and champion the best possible solutions, principles and processes.
Your top priorities will include:
Leading complex strategic initiatives by employing best practice design methods to implement interventions that benefit the One Bank customer experience agenda
Mapping out entire design systems from scratch and collaborating with stakeholders and the wider team to bring them to life
Commissioning and managing research and testing activities by using a variety of techniques and tools to elicit user-centric insights
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement that’s in line with user feedback, performance data and evolving best practices
Motivating teams in the ongoing progression of their craft, while identifying new ways to develop their skills to keep up with marketplace, industry and technology trends
The skills you’ll need
To make an impact with us, your knowledge, experience and leadership qualities will be key. That’s why we’re looking for a creative problem solver with the ability to thrive in ambiguity based on customer insights and strategies.
In addition, you’ll need:
Significant experience of leading high performance product design teams
Industry-leading knowledge of designs, insights, key trends and customer demands
Excellent stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability to influence and persuade beyond immediate reports and challenge conventional thinking
Experience of collaborating with a diverse set of colleagues and partners
Good communication skills and an understanding of how to influence at all levels
