Full Job Description

NIHR South East Regional Research Delivery Network is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications professional. You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time and be a part of a collaborative and supportive regional and national communications team to deliver RDN-wide communication and engagement activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about research to play an active role in delivering a wide range of dynamic communication activities to members of the public, service users, and health and care staff informing them about research, including opportunities to take part in studies.

The person in post will have the opportunity to work with partners from different health and care settings across the South East helping them to describe their research to the public. You will also work with people who have taken part in research to tell their story of how research has made a positive difference to their lives.

Main duties of the job

A vital role to the region's successful delivery of the RDN strategic objectives and in raising awareness of the impact of our collective work locally and nationally.

Supporting the Communications Manager will involve contributing to the creation of plans, generating ideas and supporting the delivery of communication and engagement initiatives. A curious mind and creative thinker you will spend time interacting with a diverse range of people, including the general public and professionals, to shape and deliver our region wide communications. Expect variety, interesting subjects and people, with no two days being the same. Making connections, investing time to develop relationships and by identifying different ways to approach communications, will help ensure important information reaches the communities for whom involvement and participation in research is most needed.

Impacts of this role will be evident in many ways including an increase in the number of people involved and participating in research.
