Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Safeguarding, Quality Assurance & Professional Standards Service for a Practice Development Manager for Family Hubs. This post provides an exciting opportunity to lead and influence the delivery of Family Hubs in Kent.
The successful applicant will be part of a supportive Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Professional Standards management group, and will lead on the development, delivery, and implementation of high-quality integrated children and family services. The role supports the development, delivery, and implementation of high-quality integrated Family Hub practice, including service standards, professional codes of practice, guidance, practice development, and procedures relevant to all of Children's Services and the wider children's multi-disciplinary partnership.
The Practice Development Manager for Family Hubs takes a leadership role in developing and delivering the primary quality assurance mechanism deployed across Family Hubs: The Children's Outcome Analysis (COA) and is also responsible for specific projects as well as managing a team of practitioners. The role will be responsible for delivering multiple projects to time, whilst meeting the quality criteria.
You will be able to evidence, qualification and extensive experience and proven track record at management level of successfully developing and delivering early years/best start and early help support services, including collaboration with partners, in a complex stakeholder environment. You will have a strategic mind, excellent written and verbal communication, IT skills and the ability to prioritise your own work and work with your teams to respond to tight deadlines essential for this post. You will be required to provide excellent supervision, evidencing management support and oversight for Family Hubs and lead and develop the quality assurance strategy within the service, and be committed to leading and implementing the Kent Practice Framework. You will create and maintain a good team atmosphere and morale and be able to evidence good leadership skills and a proven track record for delivering good outcomes for children and families.
In addition to your practice, you will need to lead, manage, and motivate professionals and partners to embed a positive performance culture. Above all, you'll be focused on helping children and families to change their lives for the better.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and being Qualified (minimum level 5) in a relevant subject (for example: Early Years, Education, Health, Teaching, Social Care, Youth and Community).
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
