Full Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, managing and supporting our network of puppy parent volunteers, who carry out the day-to-day training of our puppies and dogs. You will ensure that our puppies and dogs receive appropriate socialisation and training before they enter advanced assistance dog training. You will be a keen ambassador for using up to date positive reinforcement training methods., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter.   • Experience of working with puppies.
  • Good working knowledge of best practice dog training and behaviour.
  • Good practical dog handling and training skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Coaching/ Teaching skills.
  • Accurate record keeping skills.
  • Computer literacy/ IT skills (MS Officer - minimum requirement basic level)
  • It may be advantageous, but not essential, for you to have a relevant Animal Behaviour and Training Council - Animal Training Instructor (ABTC-ATI) accreditation. This role covers a specified geographical location in the Southeast of England in East Berkshire or North Hampshire. The attached map illustrates an approximate location, however the final satellite boundaries will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate. The role requires regular travel to carry out visits, training sessions and to transport puppies and dogs, it is therefore essential that you have a driving licence and appropriate vehicle for work purposes and the ability to travel in line with the requirements for the role.

    Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Part time, 22.5 hours per week Salary: £23,655 - £26,612 FTE per annum (prorated to £14,193 - £15,967 for part time) Benefits: Generous annual leave allowance, salary exchange pension scheme, life assurance, occupational sick pay, dog friendly offices.
